About Sam Kreeger
Experienced Educator
With over 12 years of experience tutoring students from grade school to graduate school, I value meeting students where they are, increasing students' confidence in their own work, and helping them achieve their academic goals.
I can help with any type of writing project, and with school subjects across the humanities. In the past, I have tutored topics including:
- English, history, and social studies
- Spanish reading, writing, and speaking
- Judaic Studies and Biblical Hebrew
- art history and book arts
- sociology, anthropology, ethnic studies, and cultural studies
- creative writing
- college essays and applications
- cover letters and résumés
- study skills and notetaking
I earned a BA in anthropology with highest honors from Mills College in Oakland, CA, and a MA in American Studies from the University of Iowa.
How Tutoring Works
Where does tutoring happen?
To meet students' needs and accommodate their busy schedules, I offer tutoring both in-person throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and via video conferencing online.
How long does tutoring last?
Tutoring sessions are one hour each.
Students can reserve a weekly meeting with me to get support across a whole academic year or semester. We can also meet for one or two sessions to work on an important paper, prepare for an exam, or catch up after an absence from class.
How much does tutoring cost?
A one-hour tutoring session costs $85. Those who commit to a full semester of tutoring will receive a $10 discount per session.
What if I need to cancel?
Life is complicated, and sometimes cancellations are necessary. I am happy to reschedule tutoring sessions with up to 24 hours' notice. If you must cancel within a 24-hour window, I will need to charge for the session. Thank you for understanding.
